The Hilo Band is made up of three main components:
The sensor housing (“pod”) is made from polycarbonate with glass fiber.
The metallic components are made from stainless steel. Stainless steel may contain trace amounts of nickel, which may cause skin irritation or sensitivity in some individuals.
Most Hilo Bands feature a strap made from medical-grade silicone, a material known for its durability, comfort, and hypoallergenic properties. Some customers may have received a nylon strap instead, depending on the version of their Hilo Band. Both strap materials are designed for comfortable everyday wear.
