Understanding the Different Hilo User Types

Hilo offers different levels of access depending on how you use the app and whether you joined before or after memberships were introduced:

  1. Free Hilo App users – You’ve downloaded the Hilo App but haven’t subscribed to a membership.
  2. Hilo Members – You’ve subscribed to the Hilo Membership for full access to all features.
  3. Aktiia Early Adopters – You started with the original Aktiia Bracelet (Hilo Band) before memberships were introduced.

What’s included in the Hilo App without a membership?

As a free user of the Hilo App, you can:

  • Take limited phone measurements (on supported devices)
  • Always view your last 7 days of blood pressure and heart rate data
  • See your Time in Target Range (TTR) for the past 7 days
  • Sync once per month to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android)

Most advanced features - like full history, medication tracking, notes and daily syncing - are locked until you become a member.

What does a Hilo Membership unlock?

A Hilo Membership gives you the complete experience:

  • Unlimited phone measurements
  • Interact with your entire blood pressure history
  • More detailed blood pressure insights
  • Use features like medication tracking, sleep schedule and notes
  • Automatically sync daily to Apple Health or Health Connect

Who qualifies as an “Aktiia Early Adopter” user?

If you started using Hilo with the original Aktiia Bracelet (Hilo Band) before the introduction of memberships, you are considered a grandfathered user. This means you continue to enjoy all features you had before, as well as the new Health App integration, at no cost.

What do “Aktiia Early Adopter” users get?

As an early adopter user, you can:

  • Interact with your entire blood pressure history
  • More detailed blood pressure insights
  • Use features like medication tracking, sleep schedule and notes

Full Health App integration same as Hilo Members
